Meet the Team
Chris Griggs

Director

Chris started his career when he joined the company in 1997. Chris started on-site, learning the principles of building to a high standard first hand, at the age of sixteen.

Having worked with every trade from an early stage in his career, Chris has a wealth of expert knowledge in all of the detailed processes involved in constructing new homes. Chris has held a range of positions within the company and became a Director of the company in March 2013.

In 2017 Chris celebrated his 20th year with the company. During the period of his Directorship the company has experienced a sustained period of organic growth in terms of turnover, profitability and personnel.

When day-to-day responsibilities allow, Chris enjoys focussing the design and specification and finishing of our developments, which all set our homes apart from those of our competitors.

Away from the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his family as well as taking a keen interest in sport, travelling and languages.

Ross Griggs

After studying at Surrey University to become a Bachelor of Engineering, Ross accepted a position at one of the UK’s top building contractors, Skanska UK Plc.

In 2006 Ross joined the family company as a Site Manager, putting his skills to use and quickly proving to be an invaluable member of the team.

In March 2013 Ross became a Director of the company, focussing on construction methods as well as streamlining our processes and improving efficiency both on-site and in the office.

Ross particularly enjoys the technical aspects of the construction process and his technical knowledge in this area continues to be an invaluable asset to the company.

Out of work, Ross enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Charles Buckingham Smart

Having studied for a BSc Hons degree from Cirencester RAC, Charles began his career as a residential estate agent in London, before joining niche West End chartered surveying practice Chase & Partners, becoming a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a RICS Registered Valuer.

Charles spent 10 years at Chase & Partners specialising in out-of-town retail development and investment, becoming an equity partner in March 2014.

In May 2016 Charles joined GRIGGS, transferring his skills to the residential sector, to lead the company’s development programme and deliver growth through securing a development pipeline in line with the company’s corporate strategy for growth.

At the weekend, Charles enjoys country pursuits, cooking and spending time with his family.

Enrique Roca

Quantity Surveyor

Enrique is our in-house Quantity Surveyor, he has over 10 years of experience in both public and private sector construction.

Enrique brings a wealth of detailed knowledge to our construction activities, both in terms of the most up-to-date building technologies and construction processes, which is complimentary to his primary role of quantity surveying and cost management.

At the weekend, Enrique enjoys running with his local running club and is currently training to undertake an Iron Man challenge. When weather permits, Enrique can also be found at his local tennis club.

Allen Bennett

Contracts Manager

Allen joined GRIGGS in 2013 having accrued extensive on-site construction experience. Allen’s day to day role as Contracts Manager is to oversee our Site Supervisors to ensure that all projects are running to schedule and that any unexpected issues are dealt with swiftly to ensure the smooth running of our projects.

Allen is also responsible for client liaison during any snagging works that might arise. His helpful and thorough approach towards this aspect of his work has not gone unnoticed by our many happy clients.

In his free time Allen takes a keen interest in sport, fine dining and spending time with his family.

Jacqui Cawley

Construction Buyer

Jacqui is our in-house Buyer, she has more than 25 years of experience in sourcing materials and negotiating with suppliers.

During her career, Jacqui has accumulated an extensive book of contacts within the industry and has built excellent relationships with our supply chain, allowing us to benefit from the best possible rates and service.

Away from the office, Jacqui enjoys silversmithing and cycling.

Miriam Kochanova

Architectural Technician

Miriam is our in-house Architectural Technician and has 15 years of experience in designing and producing structural drawings for new build residential properties.

Miriam is excellent at interpreting our clients’ requirements and benefits from a thorough understanding of the most current construction related issues, as she works closely with our construction team.

In her own time Miriam enjoys going to the gym and literature.

Lara Mann

Finance

Lara runs our finance department and is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that all company revenue and expenditure is accounted for.

Lara also looks after client accounts, payroll and administrative compliance procedures.

Away from the office, Lara is a keen member of her local squash club and enjoys travelling.

Carole Borra

Office Administrator

Carole provides invaluable support to the day to day running of the business and is the linchpin of the office.

Carole’s excellent client relationship skills are at the forefront of what we do, as she is often the first person our clients speak to when telephoning the office.

In her own time Carole enjoys travelling and spending time with her new granddaughter.
